Use 1 gram of coffee for every 15-17 ml of water . Example: For 500 ml of water, use about 30-33 grams of coffee. If you don't have a scale, it's about 2 tablespoons of coffee for every cup of water.
3. Heat the water
Boil the water and let it sit for 30 seconds to lower the temperature slightly (between 90-96 °C). TIP: If it's too hot, it can burn the coffee; if it's warm, it won't extract the flavor properly.
4. Prepare the coffee
Place the ground coffee in the bottom of the French press.
Pour in some hot water (just enough to cover the coffee).
Wait 30 seconds for the coffee to "bloom" (this step releases aromas and improves flavor).
5. Fill the press
Add the rest of the hot water slowly, in circular movements to cover all the coffee.
Stir gently with a spoon or stir stick to ensure the coffee and water are well mixed.
6. Put the lid on and wait
Place the lid on with the plunger raised (without pressing).
Let the coffee sit for 4 minutes .
7. Press and serve
After 4 minutes, press the plunger down firmly but slowly. TIP: Don't do it quickly, to avoid the sediment rising.
8. Enjoy your coffee
Serve immediately to prevent further extraction and bitterness.
If you want, accompany it with milk, sugar or enjoy its natural flavor.
